👹MVP Reward System
This page explains the updated MVP Reward determination system now live on RevoClassic RO.
What Changed?
We've updated how the MVP Reward — the item that goes directly into your inventory when you defeat an MVP — is determined.
Before — Old System
Old Behavior: MVP reward went to whoever dealt the most raw damage to the MVP.
Simple. High damage = you get the reward. Tanking, supporting, or hitting first didn't matter at all — pure DPS wins.
You deal 70% damage
✅ You
You deal 40%, someone else deals 60%
❌ Other player
You tank the MVP the whole fight but low damage
❌ You get nothing
After — New System (Now Live)
New Behavior: MVP reward goes to whoever has the highest Damage Dealt + Damage Tanked combined score.
Taking hits from the MVP now also counts toward winning the reward.
You deal 70% dmg, tank 0%
✅ You (score: 70)
You deal 40% dmg, tank 30%
✅ You (score: 70)
You deal 10% dmg, tank 60%
✅ You (score: 70) — even as a tank!
You deal 60% dmg, someone else tanks 50%
✅ You (score: 60 vs 50)
Real Scenarios
Scenario 1 — Solo Hunter
No change. You deal all the damage AND tank all the hits — you win MVP reward as always.
Scenario 2 — DPS vs DPS Competition
Player A deals 65% damage → Score: 65 Player B deals 35% damage → Score: 35
Result: Player A wins. Same as before. ✅
Scenario 3 — DPS + Tank/Support Party
Paladin tanks 50% of MVP's total damage, deals only 5% damage → Score: 55 High Wizard deals 50% damage, tanks 0% → Score: 50
🏆 Paladin gets the MVP reward — because tanking counts now!
This is the biggest change you will notice in party play.
Scenario 4 — Solo vs Late Joiner
You solo MVP from the start, dealing 70% damage, tanking 20% → Score: 90 Random player joins late, deals 15% damage → Score: 15
Result: You win easily. ✅ Late joiners cannot steal MVP reward unless they significantly outcontribute.
Scenario 5 — Full Support Priest
Priest heals and buffs the party but deals 0% damage and tanks 0% hits.
❌ Priest still gets no MVP reward. Only direct hits received from the MVP count as tanked damage — heals and buffs do not count.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does First Attacker still matter?
Yes, but not for MVP reward. The first attacker gets a 30% bonus of total damage added to their score — but this only applies to regular item drops on the floor. For the MVP reward item, it is purely dmg dealt + dmg tanked.
Should my Paladin/Crusader tank MVPs now?
If you are in a party and intentionally tanking the MVP, yes — your contribution now counts toward the MVP reward! Just make sure you are actually receiving hits (not just standing nearby).
What about MVP cards and regular floor drops?
Regular floor drops (including MVP cards) still use the loot priority system — damage dealt + first attacker bonus. This change only affects the direct MVP reward item that goes straight into your inventory.
